III: Once Returned
Video Installation

***Event postponed due to Covid 19. New details to follow!***
BERLIN – THURSDAY OCTOBER 20 – Drop by Dzialdov Gallery in Neuköln anytime between 6pm and 10pm to see our new video installation – and discuss it over a drink! Entry is free, and open to everyone.
This installation is the first reincarnation of the 11 channels of synchronised video footage and heart rate data captured during the 72-hour livestream performance of III: Once Returned last June!
In this new installation, we invite you to be immersed in a rhythmic, generative layering of projection, sound, and tactile feedback – related to the heart as a timekeeper, and as a symbol of liveness.

72 hour livestream performance

Created & Performed by: Teoma Naccarato and John MacCallum
Video Collaboration: Guillaume Cailleau
In III: Once Returned, we sustain an intensely intimate continual performance for 72 hours, never stopping, our every action – even our breath – scripted and predetermined by a metronome. Surrounded in closeup by a nine camera surveillance system, we submit the temporality of our bodies and selves to a 6-hour cycle of choreography, returning twelve times back the beginning without ever arriving where or how we once were. With us is a heart, stripped of its body, slowly decomposing – unable to return.
III: Once Returned premiered from May 30 – June 2, 2022, as a continuous livestream performance. Visitors were invited to join and rejoin anytime over the course of the three days, taking us with them into their own context.
Presently, we are developing a video installation that incorporates the full 72-hours of footage from nine unique perspectives! Details are forthcoming.
